~Apple Prayer Bread~

Greetings and Holykisses!

Come on into my kitchen and set a while! Maybe a slice of apple prayer bread, fresh out of thee oven will warm your weary soul! Let me explain: I learned a few years ago, from my niece Jamie that when making something home-baked for someone to put your prayers inside!!
And that's exactly what I do when I bake/cook for others now.

This recipe is for one loaf of bread, so I quadrupled it, so I'd have one loaf for my family, and three others for prayer-gifts. Sweet Charlene asked for this recipe, "with" pictures, so here you go Charlene, and everyone else who wants to give it a try!

I have 4 vintage pans that I love to use the most. They look like they've been used hard, but they make really good bread, and I think they came from a bakery. They're two pans that are attached. I found them I think at the salvation army, and they were quite a find! Since then,
I've seen them on Ebay and they go pretty high, so if you ever see them at a yard sale or something, grab em! I think you'll love em!
Apple Prayer Bread for 1 Loaf

While you add ingredients... pray a "blessing" for every person who eats this bread. Pray for their health, and all their needs. Get specific!! I pray as I add ingredients, and especially while I'm stirring and stirring!!!
1/2 cup of shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon soda in 2 Tablespoons milk

Mix all together and add 2 cups diced, raw apples. Pour into loaf pan and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar on top.
Bake for 1 hour at 325

This is what I do differently than most recipes. I always butter the bottoms of my pans really well. No spraying, ... I use margarine or butter. Then, I mix up extra cinnamon sugar and coat the bottoms and sides of the pans. ~You know how the tops of breads and muffins always tastes the best? Well, THIS way, you're ensuring the sides, and bottoms taste JUST as yummy! It's my favorite baking tip and it also makes the bread come out of the pan really easily too!
So after the bread dough is mixed up and put in the cinnamon sugared bottoms, I sprinkle it on the tops too. And off to thee oven they go for an hour. I always test with a toothpick in the center before I take them out.
Warm out of the oven.... can you smell them? Mmmmm...
Here's a piece just for you!! How about a cup of coffee to go along with it?
May you be blessed!!!!!!!!!!

How did I miss your last two posts?
I can just imagine how that bread tastes but it would stick in places on me where I don't need it.
Let's see we were gone to my husband's Church Homecoming where he was raised. Actually we were gone all day Sunday. Monday, he took me shopping and left me by myself while he walked. But guess what the Lord put a very pretty "little" lady who was shopping also right where I was and we got to talking and she helped me so much. I get confused when I'm in stores. She stayed right with me the whole time and even showed me how I could use two jackets with several different colors of pants or skirts. She must have been an Angel sent from God. It was so awesome.

Wish I could cook again. I use to pray over everything I made especially if I was taking it somewhere else or we were having company.

You are such a blessing.
Luv u,
AliceE.
