Thankful Thursday

It's Thankful Thursday; and yall know what that means!
Time to say, "Wooooooo, Nellie!" and thank God for our blessings!
Life gets so "busy," (I hate that word)- and I don't know about you, but it's easy to lose sight of
the goodness God gives us! I've come to enjoy Thursdays so much because it's given me a routine to give God a SHOUT OUT of praise, and share them with you as well!

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

We finished 7 days of "Laying down our "stuff" at the feet of Jesus. It was a week
that brought hope and peace back into my soul. I realized areas
that needed change in my life to better take care of this temple, from the inside out.
I guess my personality tends to get me caught up in my "feelings" instead of
what I KNOW. The result makes me "feel" bad, and Yall I aint walkin in that no more!...
So that's my first blessing.
Blessing 1. Thanks God for takin all my stuff!!! His word says
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11: 28-30

Blessing 2: As a result of "Layin down my stuff," I've begun walking again. I'd gotten lazy and
my excuses kept me without exercise. Thank you Lord, for reminding me to
take better care of my health and set a routine to walk.
On last night's walk, I came by this tree in our pasture. If you enlarge
it you'll see boards nailed to it. Our "little boys" did that, years and years ago.
If you venture into "Sherwood forest," (our woods)- you'll see several trees
have ladders nailed to them such as this. It was great fun for little boys
and made tree climbing a breeze. Often you'd also see baggies, just
full of rocks hanging from the upper branches. They did that because
we had a mean bull and he'd literally chase you up a tree. Once up
the tree, they had "ammo" waiting for them. They'd chuck rocks
at him, but it ticked him off even more.
I laugh outloud when I look at this picture.

The little slimeball sneaks up on me and chases me like
a roaring lion; same as that old, brangus bull.
But MY GOD IS my mighty Pine tree with a ladder!!!
"The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it
and are safe." Proverbs 18: 10

These little lilies pop up nearly over night. They're so colorful and jazz up an
ordinary summer day.
When they first sprout; they are just this little bare stalk, that frankly isn't much to look at.
Then you'll walk by a day or two later and "Bam," this burst of color has blossomed into the most interesting and bold display of a flower! That's what God's doin with me and you. Molding us day by day. In ourselves, we're weak stalks, but in HIM... we burst forth
in interesting uniqueness, for His Purposes
Blessing 3: Thanks God for reminding me through my Hawaiin friend
and an incredible flower that:

"My grace is sufficient for you, for MY POWER is made
perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Blessing 4. Thank you Lord for what you did on the cross.

On my walk last night, I went in our barn. There's an old feed room attached to it,
and I hardly ever open the door because we don't use it for that anymore;
Mice and rats have taken up residence. At one time,
our "teenage" boy kept his extra auto parts in there. He'd painted this
years ago, on the wall. Okay, so I know in his eyes he was painting
a chevy emblem, but I see a cross. "Thank you Father for the cross."
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who
are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is
the power of GOD." 1 Corinthians 1:18

Blessing 5: Thank you Lord for this country life.
I love my life! I love my family and
country livin.

"Delight yourselves in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."
Psalm 37:4

This tree was hit by lightening a long time ago in our pasture. Most of it was blown apart and
we were sure the tree would die. We cleaned up all the brush and were surprised
that the remaining branch, is still very much alive, inspite of it's circumstances.
"Today, I give thanks in all circumstances, for this is
God's will for me in Christ Jesus."
1 Thess 5:18

Lydia loves to rub on me when I go in her pen. She loves me and sometimes
just can't get close enough. She'd crawl in my pocket if she could.
She likes to put her head up against me and just push! I can put almost all my weight
back into her and we just lean on eachother: "Leaning" Too bad I can't "trust"
her coz if I look away too long, she's apt to hit me from behind. Oh it's
all goat play, but trust her... no way! I've come to realize that in this
life there's only ONE I fully trust.
All people make mistakes, and have a sin nature.
But, "I trust in the LORD with all my heart, and lean not
on my own understanding." Proverbs 3:5

Myguy mowed the most wonderful walking paths this week; all through and around the green pastures. It's tranquil, and the noise of life "stills." I love walking alone, with just the dogs because it's just us and God. I can walk and pray and sing, and I'm joyful!
Thank you Lord for the life you've given me. I'm so grateful.
"Show me your ways O Lord, and teach me YOUR PATHS."

I love you.

Nothing compares to country livin! Those flowers you mentioned look like Naked Ladies, named so because they are naked till you see the flower, ours here are all pink, I've never seen a red. Lovely! Your such a blessing!
