Weekend Fun

Greetings and Holykisses,
It's a lazy fourth of July morning.
Myguy and the boys got up early and went fishing. Our daughter in law has to work today, so I stayed home and started washing clothes.
I'm just about to hang laundry on the clothesline and then head to the flea market this morning for a little while.

First; thought I'd share a few pictures that I took yesterday. As I was walking through the garden, a wonderful fragrance caught my attention. The stargazers are blooming! You can see one, just to the left of "Maude."

I mowed and weeded up a storm this week. As you can see, we need rain!

Our hay was baled and we just got it home and put up. Some of the best bermuda we've ever bought! The cows n donks will be very happy!
These 40 bales give me the secret garden I long for, because they make up one wall, secluding the garden from public view; unless you're a bird of course!
Thought I'd show you a handmade, vintage collar I found at a local thrift this past week. Alot of work went into it! Pearl flowers with rhinestone centers. I think the pearl necklace was only 50 cents! It has a couple really unique olde findings in it! And it's a Y necklace! Don't find those too often.
While mowing around my AngelMother's old place this week, I came across this birdnest lying on the ground. Another to add to my growing collection!
My friend Charlcie, sold her old homeplace and is moving in with her daughter Maxi. She gave me a couple old radio's that were in her Attic! This one is missing some of the innards but the case is incredible and I love the vintage dial on front. You might be able to see it if you enlarge the picture. The top part of the dial is standard but the bottom part is foreign! It says France, Holland, ... several others. I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet... but it's a keeper! Very special since it came from Charlcie!
This is thee other one. All the radio components are gone but the case is kinda neat! One of the doors is off it's hinge and actually is broken in two. I've been studying and studying it. Should I sand the door where it broke in two and glue n clamp it back together and reattach it, or do something else? The more I look at it, the more I see a pie safe or jelly cupboard.
I put it in my kitchen just to see.....? Yep, I definitely see a pie safe or jelly cupboard. Is it just me, or do you see it too? It even has vent holes on the back. lol Now, I'm thinking of a screened door or doors on front. I can imagine a lace curtain just as easily. Decisions, decisions!

I played around with it for a while trying to get some ideas. There was no top shelf inside, but I found that a cookie sheet fits perfectly and created a shelf without having to do anything. It's going to be painted white to match thee other antique cabinets in my kitchen.

Well, the clock is ticking and the early bird gets the worm. I'm off to the flea market.
I hope the guys are catchin lots of fish and havin a ball!
I'll share more pictures tomorrow.
I pray you all have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July!
GOD BLESS THE USA!

Happy 4th Lea, Looks like you had a ball puttering around with the little cabinet. It looks cute now and will be adorable white. I could see a cute gingham curtain on it so easy or chicken wire too. It will be a great place to keep decorated and change up. Good luck and have fun,
Shanda

Hey darlin' Lea! Sounds like a fun day to me. I loved getting a peek at your lovely garden flowers. = ) I can't believe those treasures your friend gave to you! Wow! I'm definitely with you about using the smaller one in your kitchen. It looks like it was made for that space! The other radio is jaw-dropping vintage cool! Wow! That collar is SOOOOOOOO beautiful, too! I can't imagine how much time must have gone into that. Hope you got some wonderful goods at the flea market!

Love & hugs,
Tracy
