Scripture Challenge Verse 12, and "Walking In" our Purposes

Greetings and Holykisses,

For the 12th memory verse: I decided to use the verse found on the back of the tshirts, that everyone wore at the 150th Anniversary of our church on Sunday.
" One generation will commend your works to another; They will tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4

The celebration we had on Sunday was very memorable and the Lord used the guest speaker to connect more dots to my current bible studies. Along with the Purposeful Life study I've been doing, by: Jan Johnson... -I subscribed to the Purpose Driven Connection magazine which has the 40 Days of Love inside of it, by Rick Warren.

More and more Christian writers are writing that their purpose blogging is to "only share Jesus," and some really shy away from sharing any of their hobbies, uniquenesses or anything about themselves. Truly our lives are "ALL about Him," but God's told me to share Him through the daily life that He's given me. He's showing me that He didn't give us all unique fingerprints that no one else has, or breathed talents, and desires into us for us to hide our talents or not tell others what He's done. Instead, to use what He gives for His glory. Our guest speaker on Sunday had a similar testimony: As a boy, he lived on a military base when he was 12 years old. And on this base was a 1970 Dodge Charger. If you're from my "era," you know how fond guys were of the "real" muscle cars. While the audience Sunday was listening, I noticed Myguy's one eyebrow raise a little because he "related to the car." He "identified immediately to the speaker." Even though for "him," a 69 Chevelle would have raised both eyebrows. I glanced over at him and smiled and then leaned over and whispered "yuck; a MOPAR," in his ear. (he loved that) -- Back to the story.... Our guest speaker continued to share his testimony, reliving how he made friends with thee owner of this car. He said, the owner let him wash the Charger. lolololol haaa Payment for washing the car, was a ride in it- but the speed limit was only 15 mph on the base. So he talked the owner into going off-base. Heading through the gate he said the guy floored it and gave him a thrilling seconds ride because the speed limit was 55 and once he hit 55, he obeyed the speed limit. lol The point to the story is, the owner of the Dodge Charger was a born again Christian and used his car to lead people to Christ. ;) He invited our "then- 12 year old guest speaker to church and he consequently got saved. * And now I might add: look how he's serving the Lord...and very active in church...- a leader!

The message, reminded us to use what God gives us... for His glory. If God breathed a passion for fishing in your life; use fishing for Him. If He designed you to be a quilter, use quilting, for His glory. And even if you have a hotrod, allow Him to use you and that hotrod for the kingdom..... For me, it all goes back to God coloring my world purple with Lydia jars and buttons. He made me passionate about my family and friends, gardening, writing, crafting,
flea marketing, baking and everything vintage. And His word says to share Him. We're actually "commanded" to share Him. Everyone who knows Him, is to share Him. And He uses us by those very things that make us unique.

Sunday night, I turned on the tv and was completely blessed watching TBN the story of DAVID. God used that movie to stir up my heart and to learn that God used someone insignificant... little David to become King. It doesn't matter how the world may see us. It doesn't matter if we think we are incapable to do something, because if God is in it, He will make us ABLE.

Then, I logged into the Purpose Driven Connection and listened to Rick Warren's sermon about Susan Boyle; the woman who won Britain's Got Talent. He talked about her courage, and how she refused to be intimidated by the world's standards of perfection... and stood unbothered by what people thought of her. -- Tonight, I can't help but think how these two lessons are tied together in a double knot. Courageously sharing God in all the colorful capacities He created us, on purpose. No matter what man thinks. No matter how man ridicules.

People identify with others through their similar likes, dislikes and ideas.
Just imagine... no two people have thee exact same fingerprints! He created us all uniquely ourselves on purpose for His purposes. Pretty exciting isn't it?!
Knowing our purposes, and being able to see our unique abilities, talents and even our eccentric and funky "ways" .... were meant to be used on our journeys. A journey toward Him.
"For we are His workmanship, created unto Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2: 10

When God sent Samuel to meet Jesse and told him, among his sons he'd find the new King of Israel. Samuel looked upon the brothers, only to find that God had chosen the youngest and smallest.
"God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
"Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that day forward." 1 Samuel 16:13

As time went on, an evil spirit of the Lord troubled King Saul. His servants went out to find a skillful harp player to play for the king so he would be well. David was sent. He was "the skillful harp player." Something God breathed into him to make him unique and use him for his purposes! Most of you know the story that as time went on, David also killed the giant Goliath.
The shepherd boy against a mighty giant. Using only his sling and a stone. Again, he used the very thing "he knew to do." That unique ability God gave him.

I've known and read these stories before, yet today they are coming to life in my heart with more understanding. More dots connected. Using what God gives us with purpose. Makes me think of that green marble earring of my Grandmothers. Simple things that can still be used.
Even crafters, gardeners, quilters, musicians, writers, collectors, decorators, etc etc all can be used - for GOD'S GLORY!

As my angel Mother had written on a card on her icebox:
Use Me Oh Lord

Thanks Irene.
I always think I'm not actually very "talented" but moreso, like many things? Still, I hope and pray God uses me.
Holykisses,
Lea

So wonderful Lea! I did't have a hobby before I started writing, so now I'm so happy to write for the Lord.

I still haven't posted about your book mark yet. (We were out of town). But I hope to take pictures tomorrow and get the post up during the day.

Thank you again for it! It is SO cute!
