Carshow And Monday Happenings

Greetings and Holykisses,

Hope all the Dad's out there had an awesome weekend!

Thought I'd share a few pictures with you from our trip to the carshow and share the latest around here.

We had so much fun at the carshow! Myguy was in his element and we just enjoyed thee afternoon off with the boys so much~!!! It was super hot out. 100 degrees and lots of walking. Pretty sure, no pore was left unclogged. haa

I LOVED the license plate on the truck at the top picture!
These were my very favorite wheels! Are they COOL or what?????? Oops, I had a picture of the truck they were on, but somehow when uploading I missed putting it on and ... really don't want to start over. lol I'm pretty sure "MOST" of you could care less anyhow. lololol
Myguy is a chevelle magnet. I'm realizing many of my pictures these days are fuzzy. I'm so sorry. I promise to work on that. I've been noticing that when changing my settings from close up to auto, it's getting hung up in between and that's happening alot. Bear with me please!
There are so many tool vendors at the show you just can't begin to imagine. Myguy bought a few things he was needing and he and the boys had so much fun looking. I enjoyed looking at the junque stuff I'd told you about but honestly, I didn't buy a thing other than a little pick thing at this table for my craft room for 99cents. I mostly just walked with Myguy and enjoyed listening to them and had fun just "being" together.

Yall have seen pictures of my old 66 chevy probably before. One thing I was ecstatic about was Tony bought me a glove box for it!!! I had the door part to the glovebox in my truck but when you opened it, it was just a hole! No cardboard part was attached anymore. With no air conditioning, and having to drive with my windows down I was always afraid I'd lose my envelope to my registration and insurance. Believe me, I'd thought of ways to wire a BASKET insie of it and everything.... and Tony found and bought me a glovebox! Myguy already installed it so now I can open my WING windows and let the wind blow without the worry of my envelope going out the window. YahoooOooOO thank you Tony!!!!
Yall know why I took a picture of this jalopy. A steam engined chariot. Rusty, unsual, unique... way cool!
This was our favorite ride there. Don't ya love the color? Jadite greenish! It had Tony's stamp of approval.
This little bug's name was SPIKE. Click on the picture and see for yourself why it's named that. lol Looks like a baby batmobile to me.

That's it for pictures today. We had a blast though. I did have a funnel cake for yall. Well, half of one. Myguy and I shared one. Perfectly legal that way!

I think Myguy had a a wonderful Father's day. We went to church and the message was in 2 Samuel on "Thou Art The Man." An uplifting message to the Dad's in church to be Godly men; putting God first and serving Him.

When we got home, we fired up the grill. I have to tell you... you know how I'm always talking about how much I love hanging clothes on the line? Ohmigosh* After church we changed clothes. The day before, I'd hung laundry on the line and at dusk, I took it down and laid my crop pants and shirt on my dresser. After church we were changing and I pulled on my britches and got stung on my leg and could heard major loud buzzing at the same time! I hollered and went to pulling them off, telling Myguy Ohmigosh, it's buzzzing!!!!...... he turned my crop pants inside out and a huuuuge bumblebee was in them! Looked like one of those big carpenter bees, and he beat him mercilessly with my birkenstock. (my hero) It stung me on my leg.... so if you too love to hang your laundry out. My advice.... be careful. You never know whats inside of them. It didn't hurt as bad as a red wasper but holymoses....*

Last year I got stung twice by a red wasper when I walked in the barn. Trent bought me a sting kit afterwards in case it happens again. So yesterday, I tried it out and it did help. Isn't it crazy how bad bees sting?

Anyways, the kids came over and we bbq'd and had a great afternoon. Hope yall had a memorable day as well!

Thee only other news we have here is our beloved Violet (donkey) is lame. She can barely get around at all. We thought she might have gotten snakebit, but her hooves are just horrible.
Her front hooves keep chipping off so badly and now one is abcessed. The farrier thinks she'll be okay but she's in a lot of pain. I'm having to soak her foot and haul water to her to drink. Poor thing. Spirit's feet have been horrible this year too. I don't know what the problem is, .... but they are chippin off on the front really bad.

Well yall have a wonderful day today.
Stay cool!
Holykisses,
Lea

Glad you had a good time, it all looks like so much fun! I loved the aqua colored one! I hope your donkey is ok, are they in fescue? When we had cows fescue would ruin their feet so bad?

Well, I guess you forgot to bring me back a Camaro...*sigh*.... I'll forgive you this time.

Sorry 'bout the sting- I got stung on MY BIG TOE Saturday! It still smarts! (And itches like crazy!) Hubby says- "that's what you get for walking up to the barn with flip flops!" (Smartypants.)
Glad you had a good weekend- hope Violet feels better soon, poor thing...

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful day with your Guy and your boys. Sounds like fun. So sorry it ended with a bee sting. My brother-in-law is allergic to bees and has to carry a needle filled with medicine in case he gets stung. The worst time is when we all go to Atlantic Beach in October and the guys go fishing. He always carries that needle with him.

I remember getting stung a lot when I was little. The worst was a wasp sting.

My youngest daughter and her family brought dinner Saturday night for Father's Day. It's always a joy when they come and bring out grandchildren.

We've been trying to go to my oldest daughter's in Virginia Beach, VA, but something always happens. Hopefully we will get to go this week. Would you say a prayer that we can go, it's been a while since we've been.
From my heart to yours,
AliceE.

Love the car show and my fave is the truck, too!! I would really love to own an old pick-up!! How fun would that be??

I'm so sorry sweetie that the little buggar of a bee hid in your clothes, and bit you! I haven't been stung since I was a kid by anything, so I don't even remember how much it stings!

Cool compresses are supposed to help. My Mom always made a little moist paste out of baking soda and a few drops of water and smoothed it over the sting. It seemed to help.

Sorry to hear also about your donkeys. I will be praying for them and that you get to the bottom of the hoof thing.

Have a joyful week, my friend,
Hugs,
Becky

Sounds like you all had a great time!

I used to drive a red 1963 Karmen Ghia by VW. It was SO cool. By I had to roll the windows down when it rained and rotate them manually when going down the road (haha) AND the sunroof leaked...but boy was I cool on a sunny day!!

Bee stings...OUCH!! Got a few caught in my hair once...almost had a nervous breakdown....me, not the bees....well, they did too.

Oh, that sounds dreadful with the bee sting. You are absolutely going to crack up, but when you wrote me earlier, I told my guy that Tony had bought you a boxing glove. Oh what a hoot because he said to me, why would she want that? My reply....he's got one tough Momma.

Oh how funny, I got that all confused, a glove box, not a boxing glove. Love it, laugher.

And I love you,
Yolanda
