Thankful Thursday ~Simple Pleasures~

Greetings and holykisses!

Counting my blessings, and naming them one by one today!
My thankful FIVE.....

I'm thankful for Flora Bella; my sweet little hen named after Sara's doll at Sweet Magnolia's Farm! Our hens are laying eggs by the bucketfulls. I wasn't always crazy about eating eggs, but lately.... there's just something wonderful about a good ole fried egg; over medium, with lotsa salt n pepper, a slice of buttered toast, and a pile of hashbrowns!
We're so blessed to have chickens running around! Even though they kick all the mulch around and poo on the welcome mat at the kitchen door. I love em! The roosters try to outcrow eachother and chase eachother around the yard. There's nothing like a good ole rooster chorus when they all chime in! They make me smile, laugh and are feeding us very well! Thank you Lord for these goofy chickens, ... our beautiful Flora Bella and my new friend Sara!

I'm thankful for the birds that visit our feeders, sit on this garden gate, and treat us to a melody of beautiful song. I've never appreciated them so much! We have cardinals, mockingbirds, finches, sparrows, bluebirds, indigo buntings, woodpeckers, bluebirds, hummers, and lots of cowbirds! They nest in the honeysuckle, red tip photinias, and even the potting shed! Thank You Lord for your gift of these beautiful little visitors.

I'm thankful for simple pleasures. Seeing beauty in vintage jars, bottles and rusty metal.
I'm thankful for feathers, lace, and tatting. Thank you Lord for brightening my day with
visual delights, and the ones given through FRIENDSHIP!

I'm thankful for flowers! This hydrangea originally came from my friend Jackie's Papaw homestead. A few years ago, I was horse sitting for Jackie. They were gone on vacation, and her hydrangeas were blooming. I picked a big bouquet and brought them home and put them in an olde fruit jar. The green shoots rooted! Not the flower stems, but the greens! So, I planted them and this is the result! I now have a huge hydrangea bush loaded with big fluffy blooms, thanks to my heavenly FATHER. I've been blessed with bouquets every year.
Thank you Lord for your gift of DIVINE splendor, and the miracle found in growth.

Thank you Lord for growing our herd! Yesterday, finding Gertrude had this big baby bullcalf was an incredible blessing. He's a big calf, and she's always such a wonderful Momma cow. We kept her last calf "on her" way too long. He was nearly as big as she and still nursing. So being bred back really pulled her down. We didn't realize she was as far along as she was, and yesterday she had this beautiful, sweet bullcalf.
Thankyou Lord for growing our little herd and giving us a Wednesday surprise!

Thank you Father God for my beautiful family and wonderful friends. Thank you for enriching my life with simple pleasures; with lots of love, peace and joy. I'm so grateful and love ya with all my heart. Forever!!
